Keyword research

Global keyword discovery — search any market, compare DataForSEO and Ahrefs, and build shortlists for content generation.

How keyword research works here what each step does, and which ones cost money
  1. Seed → ideas. You give one keyword you already believe in; DataForSEO returns the related terms people actually search in that country and language. This is the only step that buys data.
  2. Read the table. Each row is one keyword, each column group one provider. Providers disagree — that is why both are shown side by side rather than averaged.
  3. Star what is worth writing. A starred keyword joins this site's shortlist. Starring is free and reversible.
  4. Generate. From the shortlist panel, a keyword becomes a draft in the review queue. That step spends the most, so it is never automatic.

What the columns mean

  • Volume — searches per month for that keyword in that market. A monthly average, not a promise of traffic.
  • Difficulty — 0–100, how hard the first page is to reach. Low difficulty on a low-authority site is the realistic place to start.
  • CPC — what advertisers pay per click. A proxy for commercial intent: high CPC means someone is ready to buy.
  • not measured — no provider has a figure for it. That is a missing answer, never a zero.

Reading data already bought is always free: past searches below reopen from the archive without calling a vendor. Only Research, Measure and Generate spend, and the meter above shows today's total against the daily ceiling.

DataForSEO figures are the vendor's real per-call cost. Ahrefs does not report one, so its share is estimated.
